A record-fast camp tear-down put us on the road nice and early today. We stopped 25km down the road for a rest-stop breakfast and then carried on through Blind River to Algoma Mills, where we stopped to pick up some smoked fish for lunch. The smoked fish and the fine dining in Iron Bridge might indicate that our tastes have become a bit more refined lately, that we’ve been indulging in some high living, ironically perhaps, on this most wild and undeveloped stretch of road. (Don’t worry, there would be plenty of peanut butter and cheese sandwiches to come.)
Indeed, the road was wild today, and at least one near-death experience was incurred when a skittish driver screeched to a halt beside me when a car pulled out in the opposing lane to pass another oncoming vehicle rather suddenly. Caroline also suffered her 6th (7th? – not sure) flat tire of the trip, which we patched up in a ditch. How’s that for high living? Anyway, we made it to Espanola in one piece, and met our friend Becky, who had driven down from Sudbury to take us out for dinner! Thanks Becky!
Bellies full of Italian food, we enjoyed a sunset ride to Apsey Lake, where rumours that a lovely campground existed there were confirmed. Before bed, we enjoyed some delicious baked goods that Becky had sent us off with. Three cheers for Becky!

 Stats:
 Av. Spd.: 18.5km/h
 Mx. Spd.: 41.6km/h
Cost of a couple smoked fish sandwiches: 17 bucks! It was a nice change though.
