Day 14 - Rest Day in Calgary

Thunderstorms and tornado warnings today. Good day to be inside writing blogs. I guess the Stampede is going on too. Good day to be inside writing blogs.
Next rest day will be in Medicine Hat - we probably won't be able to update this thing until then. That'll be in 4 or 5 days, so mark your calendars. It may involve dinosaurs, ghost towns, and baseball fields.

  1. I just have to say, these posts have all been amazing. Anna and I are reading with crazy envy and awe and stuff. What an amazing adventure! What a great way to see and learn about this crazy big nation! Some people cycle across the UK, from John O' Groats at the top of Scotland to Land's End in the south of England. We looked it up, and the distance by road is 1407 kilometers. The UK is snack-size and you guys are doing the full meal. Way to go. Have a sweet ride through the prairies... M&A

  3. Um, fantastic!! I just read all of your posts in one sitting; in my opinion they are the perfect combination of commentary, facts and stats, and human interest. You two are quite inspirational!

    A few general interest questions:

    1) Does Caroline always ride in the front?

    2) Approximately how many litres of water are you guys consuming/day?

    3) What is the current score in the ground squirrel game?

    Rock on and keep safe!!

  6. Pat - I am also quite interested in knowing how much water you two are consuming daily (mostly you actually). Perhaps you could add this to the daily stats?

Other suggestions for daily stats: hours spent in the saddle, days since last shower, days since last laundry day...etc.

  8. Also, now that you've hit the praries, I'd like to see stats about how many bugs you get in your teeth, how many mosquito bites, and how many wheat stalks chewed.
